Is it just me, or when it comes to solving problems in our business we can end up stuck in our own echo chamber? 

It's hard to get an external perspective of things inside our business, and it's easy to keep missing something, using an outdated option, or slowing our own process when we stick to what (and who) we know. 

And if you're like me, you don't intend to be that person that ends up in an echo chamber...sometimes it just happens. 

The solution? A fresh pair of eyes can make all the difference. This is why mentors, coaches, consultants and boards of advisors are useful. They can bring an angle to our challenges that we just can’t get for ourselves. 

I've seen again and again the power of this, that's why this quarter, I invite you to get outside your echo chamber at least once to hear an outside perspective on something that's got you over-thinking. It's time to break the pattern!

As a fun aside, we just spent last week at KBIS, a major kitchen and bath conference with the intention of meeting our community AND getting outside perspective. 

We only know what we know. 

We used KBIS to learn more of what we don't know. 

It proved to be insightful, worthwhile, and a whole lotta fun! Who said getting outside perspectives had to be dull.
