Mine doesn't happen alone. Twelve hours in the car reminded me.

FOR LUXURY DESIGN BUSINESSES ON THE RISE

On my drive back from Montana to Arizona, I binged The Curiosity Shop episodes with Brené Brown and Adam Grant friend.

I can't be the only one that enjoys professional development podcasts on long drives.... right? 😁😬

Listening to these two incredibly intelligent and thoughtful people engage in courageous discussion reminded me: real learning and deep thinking don't usually happen when we're by ourselves. The "aha" moments come when we're working through ideas with someone else.

I also felt grateful that I have that in my life... a collection of thinkers I regularly work through ideas with. But it happened by accident. I never sat down and decided who I wanted to think with. I just knew I wanted to keep in touch with certain people.

Accidental has worked okay. Intentional would work better, and that is something I'm wrestling with currently.

Experiment for the Week: Map your thinking partners.

Write down the last three ideas that changed your thinking or how you run your business (or life). Next to each, note where it came from... a conversation, a drive, a podcast, the shower. Now you have the beginning of a map of where your best thinking happens, and most of us have maybe never considered that. (or... have your AI program interview you if it seems hard to just write it down).

Hit reply and tell me what your map shows: where, and with whom, do you do your best thinking? I read every reply, and your answers shape these conversations.

xo,
