Back to school started this week friend.
In Phoenix, in August π

The days have a framework and a rhythm again, and I'm back to scheduling three workout classes a week... if it's not on the calendar, I don't make it to the gym.
I've surrendered to reality: my life is better when I use frameworks. (I have to keep explaining this to my husband)
They organize my thoughts, they make communication with my family and my team go smoother, and they keep me moving forward instead of circling. (cycling? spiraling? collapsing in a heap?)
Yes, I even have a scheduled check-in with my immediate family. It is the Family Phone Call. A 30+ year tradition at 8:30 MT on Sunday where my parents, sisters and I get on the phone and catch up. Maybe I'll talk more about that in another email.
Because I find them helpful I thought you might find them helpful. This month I'm sharing frameworks doing heavy lifting for me right now, including one from BrenΓ© Brown (in conversation with Adam Grant) that is informing how I hand off work (well, trying... you know).
And what better way to give things a go than to run a couple experiments? π§ͺ

Experiment for the Week: Decide once.
Find one thing you re-decide every single week... when to work out, when to follow up on quotes, reply to texts, talk to your mom. Make the decision one time, put it on the calendar, and let the calendar be the boss.
Hit reply and tell me what you picked. |
